When I started on this summit I did not realize just how long the hike was going to be; it ended up being about 8.5 miles with an elevation climb of over 1500 feet.
It was a very cool hike, all road. You pass a few different locations with buildings etc. I passed an apple tree that had fresh bear waste (I took a pic but without a "reference" next to it it looked like Chihuahua poop so I didn't post it).
There is a picnic area and a visitor center where you can take a rest. The steepest part of the climb is just after that. I set up on the top and used an old military crane for shade. The entire building at the top rotates.
