For some reason I under-estimate the difficult hikes and over-estimate; this summit was no exception. As you can see from the pics, this was, at some point, hostile territory, although I found almost no evidence of illegals on the entire hike, not even old stuff. I do know, that this area used to be heavily traveled by smugglers and illegals, but enhanced Border Patrol presence has pretty much eliminated that over a decade or more ago. The hike was pretty straight forward, no surprises other than I allocated much more time than necessary for it. The activation zone was a huge grassy field with little scrub. It was one of those activation zones that makes you want to stay for a long time.
